Biochemistry is a preclinical subject in medical studies. The goal of teaching Biochemistry to the First MBBS students is to make them aware that life processes deal with different chemicals, derangement of which causes various diseases. The students learn the basic as well as advanced metabolic pathways which are related to health & disease. In addition Immunology, Genetics and molecular basis of life are also taught to them. The students use basic conventional techniques and instruments to perform biochemical analysis relevant to clinical screening, diagnosis and interpretation of results. Our mission is to impart best knowledge of the subject for correct diagnosis and prognosis of the disease and to inculcate interest in students for research.
Apart from above, the medical college has well equipped paraclinical departments of microbiology, pharmacology, pathology and community medicine with respective laboratories. The goal of this medical training is to contribute to produce clinical graduates with highest competencies and ethical standards of practice. The medical training also develops a sense of leadership in community care, research in medical and allied fields, all round effort to provide newer diagnostic services for better patient care and a congenial environment for research and innovation.
