ICU

We have a 60-bedded, ultra-modern ICU Complex at JNU Hospital. This Complex also houses state of the art Multispecialty ICUs.

Some of these are Medical ICU (MICU), Surgical ICU (SICU), Respiratory ICU, Burn ICU, Pediatric ICU (PICU), Obstetrics ICU and Intensive Cardiac Care Unit (ICCU).

All these ICUs have their own dedicated set of specialized and sophisticated lifesaving equipment, crash carts, airway trolleys, Defibrillators, Multipara Cardiac Monitors ECG Machines etc.

Blood Centre

Our Laboratories, CT Scan and MRI are the state of art and render urgent services to the ICUs.

It makes us really proud to say that it’s a Tertiary care ICU Complex and we had the good fortune of successfully saving and discharging patients with severe Polytrauma, Head Injuries Cerebro Vascular Accidents and Compromised G I Surgery. Moreover Cardiac Patients with poor Cardiac Reserve, Obstetrics and Paediatrics high risk cases, Poisoning and Snake Bite cases, High risk Paediatric Surgery cases, Head and Neck Cancer Reconstructive Surgeries, Severely compromised Dengue and Stroke patients are treated on a regular basis.

In fact, our top of the line Ventilators, HFNC, BiPAP / CPAP Machines have also helped us to save many Respiratory Failure Patients, Post Covid Patients and Patients with multiple co-morbidities.

We have successfully saved about 5 seriously ill, Fat Embolism patients where even the Mortality rate is quite high.

Operation Theatres

These operation theatres have facilities such as dedicated air handling units to match the air exchanges and special OT flooring as per the International infection control norms. All these operation theatres are fully equipped with the latest in LED OT lights, premium OT tables, multipara monitors, defibrillators, warmer machines, central suction, diathermy machines, anesthesia workstations, all the necessary medical gases and a well-trained nursing and paramedic staff.

This is an ultramodern OT that matches all international sterility standards and protocols. All joint replacement surgeries, spine surgeries, major cancer surgeries, supra-major gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgeries, advanced laparoscopic surgeries, cochlear implant surgeries etc. are being performed here.

All surgeries related to orthopedics, both trauma and chronic orthopedic problems are performed here. This operation theatre is equipped with Karl Storz high definition camera system for endoscopic spine surgery, Karl Zeiss operating microscope, fully automatic C-arm image intensifier to see the X rays of the bones while the patient is being operated upon, power drills and high speed burr.

Equipped with the latest Stryker’s high definition laparoscopy system to perform all basic and advanced laparoscopic surgeries, all surgeries related to general surgery, both planned and emergency are performed in this OT.

Important factors like temperature control and cold chain is maintained as per storage guidelines of medicines and vaccines. Nutritional Care of Patients

In-Patients:

The department provides normal, modified and therapeutic diets to all the in-patients depending on their respective disease conditions in consultation with treating physician of the individual patient. All the patients on special diet are also provided a detailed diet chart at the time of discharge.

OPD Patients:

The dietitians counsel the referred patients for a variety of conditions. The patients’ general food pattern is noted and accordingly appropriate Diet plan is given.

Central Laboratory

The Central Laboratory of JNU Hospital not only serves patients but also plays a significant role in fulfilling the requirements of the research fellows and hence contributes in the academic activities of this medical college hospital.
